The Biggest Loser…

The Luther addition.

Are you confused? Don’t be I’ll clear this right up for you.

This is Luther

<—–LUTHER

I still sense numerous wrinkled brows, WTF’s, and huhs. Yes, Luther is me. Or rather it’s a part of me, my stomach specifically. It was aptly named after I had my preventative mastectomy. Imagine my surprise when I looked down and saw that I looked somewhat pregnant.

Or like I was smuggling a basketball under my shirt.

I kinda like the idea of being pregnant and bringing a little me into the world but I won’t go any further into that tangent.

Anyway.

How about a little backstory to make this more cohesive? Yes?

Two years ago, I went to my quarterly doctor’s visit and one of the first things they do is get your weight on what I assume is a super precise scale (joy). I got on said scale and when I saw the numbers staring back at me I cried and died a little on the inside.

It said 406lbs.

Holy shite that scared me. My first thought was “I could end up on 600 lb Life”. I kid you not. The entire appointment was a blur. I don’t remember anything except that number on the scale. When I got home, I made a series of decisions that led me on a weight loss journey. As of today, I weight 259lbs. It’s not my final goal that’s 175 so I have a ways to go.

Now that you have some backstory can you imagine what Luther looked like when I was 406lbs? I mean I don’t like him now. Luther is not my friend and I’m doing what I can to take him down several pegs or ten inches, whichever comes first.

As the person losing weight, it is often hard for me to see it on myself so if it’s okay with y’all I’m gonna take pics like the one above from time to time and hopefully you can help me compare. Please? I love audience participation!

Losing weight has been difficult. I’m not gonna lie. There are days when Doritos call to me and I’m not talking about the snack sized bags. But, I’ve also learned with the help of Noom (product placement roll your eyes accordingly) that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

I can eat a cookie and not hate myself or feel supremely guilty. I mean, I’ll be damned if I’m going to go through the rest of my life without cheesecake.

Regardless, I want Luther eradicated. Down with Luther!

Who’s with me?!

    1. Sucks. I’ve been there so I decided to eat all the fried chicken I wanted and ended up gaining 5 pounds which was a bit of a wake up call. I read an article recently that said its better during weight loss to stagger your caloric intake and not eat the same amount everyday. I’ve kinda been doing that. It’s slow going since I’m only at a pound or so a week but it makes me feel like I’m not limiting myself so much

  1. This is a journey that a lot of us have been on or are currently on. And go YOU, for dropping, what, about 150 pounds????? YES! Glad to hear Noom is helping. Whatever it takes to get you where you want to go! Kudos!
